Did You Know Tamannaah Bhatia Was Rejected For Dhurandhar Song Shararat? Here’s Why –
Dhurandhar is a full-blown blockbuster right now, and one of the biggest reasons behind the buzz is its viral song Shararat.
Did You Know Tamannaah Bhatia Was Rejected For Dhurandhar Song Shararat? Here’s Why –
Featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle D’Souza, the track has taken over social media with its energy, and glamour. But here’s a fun behind-the-scenes fact. This song almost had Tamannaah Bhatia in it.
Choreographed by Vijay Ganguly, Shararat was always meant to be a visual treat. In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Vijay revealed that Tamannaah was his first choice for the number. “In my head, she was the one,” he said, adding that he had suggested her name to the makers.

However, director Aditya Dhar had a very clear vision and wasn’t convinced. Vijay explained that Aditya “was very clear that he did not want what people call an item song, something that went out of the story.”

The concern was simple. Casting a single, high-profile star could pull attention away from the narrative and turn the song into a standalone moment rather than a part of the film’s flow.
That is exactly why Shararat features two performers instead of one. As Vijay put it, “That’s why there are two girls, not one. He didn’t want the attention to be about this one person.” He further explained that if Tamannaah had been cast, “it would’ve been about her and not the story.”
At a point in the film where “there was a lot going on,” Aditya Dhar didn’t want the song to feel like a distraction. Vijay summed it up perfectly when he said, “If you go away from the story, then the song is just a cut-to song.”
In the end, the decision paid off. Shararat became a hit without overpowering Dhurandhar’s narrative. Sometimes protecting the story matters more than adding extra star power!
